What did the founding fathers think was best?

When the founding fathers came together to form the American government, they all pretty much had the same ideas on what they wanted it to look like. These ideas mostly fell under the components of a Pluralist Democratic Republic. The founding fathers believed very much with the idea of factions created by James Madison. Factions were created because america as a whole has always had different view points with very different ideas on how to go about them. For this reason factions were created for people to come to compromises, but anyone who really had a say in factions were manly white men with education, property, and money which is the key component of a pluralist democracy.

In a pluralist democracy there are a lot of different groups, people and organizations with different view points , but that are trying to come to compromises to get what their group and or organization wants. In Federalist No.10 by James Madison he says, "By a faction, I understand number of citizens, whether amounting to a majority or minority of a whole, who are united and actuated by some common impulse of passion,or of interest, adverse to the right of other citizens, or to the permanent and aggregate interests of the community." This mean that the different ideas made by different groups can reach the  government and or leaders and hear the different ideas of  different groups.  The founding fathers then recognized in a democratic government it is very important to hear out the citizen and ideas but also that those factions are never going to have more power than the government and the most important thing that they didn’t want to give up was power. In federalist No. 10 it says “Extend the sphere , and you take in a greater variety of parties and interest, you make it less probable that a majority of the whole will have a common motive to invade the rights of others...” This basically says that the more factions there are the more opinions there are the more compromises there will be.

To conclude, I Believe that the founding fathers wanted the American government to be a pluralist democratic republic because they still wanted to hear out the citizens and know the different opinions but they knew very well they or would not be in THEIR best interest if the citizens could over power the government which is why the government can control factions.
