Senator John McCain has died of brain cancer at 81 years old. He was a veteran and was captured and kept in a prison in Vietnam during the war. He served in the congress for three decades and was the Republican presidential nominee in 2008. Just a few days ago, he announced that he will stop medical treatments. Many people have been calling him an "American hero", and lots of people have posted on social media their condolences.
Questions for discussion:
Should he be called an "American hero"?
Will the senate be the same without such an important figure?

Kenny,
ReplyDeleteGood choice of current event as it is both current and important. However, you need to provide much more background. Who was John McCain? What was his reputation as a politician? What did Democrats and Republicans think of him? What about President Trump?
Your post offers very little information, gives little analysis, and barely follows the format of a good blog post.
