No one knew what was going on. No one was expecting this to happen. More than 300 catholic priests were accused for abusing more than 1,000 children over the past 70 years in six dioceses. All the priests at church today addressed the incident with broken hearts. Why? Why would these priests do this? “Our hearts are broken most especially for the victims of sexual abuse, and pain and brokenness that they have borne for years” Stubna told his congregation. “Their voices needed to be heard and we support them with our love and our prayers and stand in solidarity with them now and in the future.” Many people are hearts broken and feel sorry for the children that have been abused. People that are Catholics are ashamed at what the priests did to the children. “By findings almost no cases after 2002, the grand jury’s conclusions are constient with previous studies showing that Catholic Church reforms in the United States drastically reduced the incidence of clergy child abuse,” Greg Burke.
