McCain: Dead at 81

As many of you have probably heard, Senator John McCain has passed away due to brain cancer. McCain, an Arizona senator, former Navy officer, and republican, was known as a “maverick”, for his service in the House and Senate. McCain has served in Senate since 1987, and prior to his appointment to the Senate, served two terms in the House of Rep. BAck in 2008, he was the Republican presidential nominee, who lost to Obama. HE also lost in the primaries to George W. Bush in 2001. McCain was diagnosed with a brain tumour about a year ago, and unfortunately had announced just last week his discontinuation of treatment. President Trump on saturday responded to his death, by a tweet stating “my deepest sympathies and respect go out to the family of Senator John McCain. Our hearts and prayers are with you!”. But when a White House Statement that declared the decorated veteran a hero was proposed, Trump simply decided to honor him through social media. John McCain’s funeral is planned to take place at the Washington National Cathedral on Saturday.
